Linear Static structural analysis of Wheel hub knuckle.

Title- Linear Static structural analysis of Wheel hub knuckle.

Aim- To linear Static structural analysis of Wheel hub knuckle.

Objective-

  1. Delete 3 D solids from the geometry
  2. To perform required geometry cleanup using defeature tab.
  3. To mesh components using 3D volume tetra mesh elements.
  4. Set desired boundary condition.
  5. Perform linear static analysis.
Procedure-
  1. Import geometry file into hypermesh solver deck.

  2. Delete the solids in geometry. Defeture the small filets and surface irregularities. Now, the meshing process began, firstly volume tetra mesh with R-trias are formed. R-trias are used because it captures the geometry quite well.

  3. Rigids are formed in new component rigids.

  4. Load collectors with various cases are formed as shown below.
various conditions and cases are defined such as-
  • The torque due to braking and driving.
  • Application of brakes.
  • Lateral forces while riding and cornering.
  • Bumps due to road irregularities.
    5. Loadsteps

   6. Using Optistruct solver we will solver our problem

Conclusion-
  1. Structural results show that the wheel knuckle is safe under described circumstances.
  2. The stress formation regions and values signify that stress is well under the safe zone.
